NAHB Submits Letter in Support of Faso’s Scaffold Law Reform Legislation

At NYSBA’s urging, NAHB along with a large group of like-minded organizations including the Associated General Contractors, The Real Estate Roundtable, and the Building Owners & Managers Association, submitted a letter in support of Congressman Faso’s Scaffold Law Reform legislation.

H.R. 3808 specifies that lawsuits against property owners and contractors for injuries associated with slips, falls, and “gravity-related risks” at Federally-assisted projects must be judged under a “comparative negligence” standard.  While this legislation will not directly affect many of our members, NYSBA feels that this is a great first step to show New Yorker’s the detrimental impact Scaffold Law has in New York State.
